It was a great day for a trip to the seaside. Glen and Sarah were sitting in the back, Mum was driving, and Dad was studying the map.
“How much longer, Dad?” said Sarah.
“A few more miles. There’s a long road tunnel coming up. It’s quite new. I’ve not been through it before.”
There were steep hills around them now. The road was full of bends.
  “Here’s the tunnel!” Mum said.
It was a very long tunnel, and quite dark. At first, they couldn’t see the other end. Then there was a bend and in the distance, they could see daylight.
“It’s a lot longer than I thought” said Dad.
At last the tunnel ended and they drove out into the sunshine.
“What’s going on? Quick, stop!” Dad yelled.
Mum slammed on the brakes. Ahead of them the road had disappeared. There was just a rough track.
  “Turn round and go back!”
Mum turned the car. But there was no road tunnel, just a cave in the side of a high cliff.
“What’s happened? Where are we?” said Glen in a scared voice.
“I don’t know,” said Mum. “It looks like we’ve come into a different world.”

Cautiously, everyone got out of the car, and stared in wonder at this new world. “Where are we? What did you do Dad?” Sarah yelled in distress. The sky was pale, and the clouds covered the entire atmosphere. The thunder roared, and the wind blew aggressively. Sarah’s hands were shaking from the icy, cold wind, and despite the fact that everyone was terrified, Sarah was intrigued. “Where did you take us Mum?” Glen questioned, desperate for an answer. “I should have taken you here years ago.” Mum whispered. “What?!” Everyone exclaimed. Mum laughed to herself and continued walking towards the tall, rusty gate. “Follow me.” As they followed, the car disappeared from sight. “The car! That cost me a fortune.” Mum ignored him and continued forward. Each step they took, the wind grew stronger and stronger. Confused faces were like plastered on everyone’s face, while Mum looked like she was coming home. Glen has tears streaming down his face. They halted. The gate swung open at Mum’s touch. Sarah noticed that her mother’s usual clothes faded off, revealing an odd outfit that she wore with her head held high. Mum snapped her fingers. The sound echoed through the land beyond the gate, creating a wave of authority throughout the people. The people smiled at the sound of music growing faintly. Glen and Sarah felt a wave of relief washing over them, knowing they were safe here. “Attention please!” Although her voice was quiet, everyone heard it very clearly. “This is my family” She wrapped her arms around her two kids, as the Dad came closer and felt more at home. “Sarah, my daughter, Glen, my son, and my lovely husband”. They cheered and welcomed the family they had been longing to meet for years. Mum turned to her family, with a huge grin on her face, and announced, “this is your new home.” The gloomy sky transitioned into a bright, blue sky, the sun’s rays shone over everyone, leaving a beautiful glow over the land beyond the gate.

Suddenly, emerging out of the blue a petite, ancient, grey-haired wizard addressed the Mum about a serious problem. All the mum was thinking about was how the wizard's coat was floating in the air. Soon it became apparent that the mum was really a witch.
"The goblins again?", yelled the mum....the husbands face changed in confusion.

He opened his mouth to talk but nothing came out. He seemed to be confused by this whole new world thing. Suddenly, the little kids came out with a deep secret that they had never told anyone one before this mysterious moment in time.
“we’re goblins!” said the twins
“what ?!” exclaimed the farther “you mean I have been raising green gross goblins as my children wh why did you not TELL ME THIS!”
His face turned purple in anger. He seemed to be confused at the same time as his family hadn’t even been human. He turned away not wanting to see the faces of the people that had lied to him for so long.
“I’m leaving don’t bother coming back with me it’s over between us 17 years down the drain because of this idiotic lie.”
He turned to leave but soon realised that the tunnel had disappeared not long before along with his car, life and family. There was no way out he had to stay here no matter what. It soon came to him that in this world happened to have an entrance but no exit. There was no way out, no way home and no way back to his old peaceful life that he always loved so much.
Suddenly, as he was in deep thought, the ground began to shake. An overly large and deep pit opened beneath him. He began to fall into the clearest place he had ever seen and everything was crystal white.....

He landed with a thud, his head spinning. He slowly sat up, groaning in pain. The confused man was captivated by the sheer beauty of the crystals dancing around the room. He looked for the slightest possibility for escape but there was nothing. No tunnels, no doors, no foot holes on the walls, nothing.

A glimpse of light shined down from a crack in the wall, illuminating the already blinding room. A small serpent slithered from the crack, blocking any signs of light. The snake was bright orange, with black stripes. The dad was frightened yet entranced by the serpents golden eyes. It had a small silver marking running along its back. It gradually made its way out of the crack and raised its head - suddenly morphing into the petite wizard they had met earlier.
The dad cried,
“What is going on?!”
The wizard replied calmly, taking off his bright orange robe.
“Don’t worry your family are safe. You however, are not.” The father, even more confused felt that any minute now would explode of confusion. He screamed out,
“My wife is a witch and I have fathered two goblins, my best car has disappeared, I am stuck in this crystal cave and I’m talking to a wizard that can turn in to a snake!”

A smile appeared on the wizard’s smug face. He stared for a long, hard time at the dad and then finally said to him, “You really want to get out of here, don’t you?”
The dad replied, “Yes, desperately!” another smug smile appeared on the wizard’s face. “I have an offer, with consequences, of course,” the wizard sneered.
“What’s the offer, then?” asked dad, who was very confused. “You know I’ll do anything!”
“I’ll let you go under one condition: you must kill your family and then bring their bodies back to me before the strike of TEN!”
“No! I can’t do that! They’re all I have, even if I have lost them to that world…”
The wizard nodded, and paused for a moment, then sighed as he proposed his next offer, “You are a difficult man to please. However, I can make a compromise, with another condition. You may bring your family to me and I will get my servants to bake a cake. We will have a farewell party”
The dad stared, this was too good to be true, “Really, you’ll let us go?” he queried.
“Yes and even better. No cost included!” the wizard walked up to the dad and added, “Of course, if you’ll accept my offer?”
“Yes, yes of course I will accept your wonderful, generous offer!” he cried at once.
“Fine then, it’s settled, bring your family to me and we will have the biggest party our world has ever had,” the wizard laughed, that man and his family would make a lovely topping to the cake he had promised.
He suddenly shouted, “SERVANTS!”

Suddenly two bright purple swirling portals appeared as if by magic behind the wise wizard. Around a hundred curious pixies tumbled out.
'Grab this man and lead him to the castle'
The wizard smirked maliciously as the father was forced through a portal and out of the crystal cave. The wizard pulled up his orange sleeves and slunk into the shadows. Meanwhile back in the mysterious kingdom the wizard watched as around fifty other pixies yanked the mother and two little goblins also through the portal. The castle was dark and spooky and candles lit up as the scared family walked through the towering halls. The wizard sat on a throne of bones his red pupils glinting in the light. He had a staff filled with little sparkles.
'How would you little people like to be baked huh?'
The family quivered in fear as the wizard cackled.

The father told his family, “We all need to split up and escape from the kingdom.”
Little did the family know, the wizard could see and hear everything that the family said or did. As they all went their own ways, the kids fell through the portals which went into the crystal cave. The parent heard the screaming kids and ran as fast as they could after them. They were too late, and the portals had already closed up. The wizard announced to the mother and father that he had their kids had been captured and were safe with him until they could figure out a way to get to them. The mother and father whispered to each other that they have to stay together and trick the wizard to get their kids back safely.
While the family was searching, the wizards and other pixies were busy baking the kids into a cake. The wizard opened a portal for the family to to come through and get the kids from the crystal cave.
“Give us our kids back now,” said the father.
“They are in the back helping bake a cake for us to share.”
After a couple of minutes, the pixies brought a huge cake out and said, “You can start sharing this while your kids are cleaning in the back.”
The parents started eating the cake and dropped to the ground because of the poison that was put in the cake. The wizard laughed mischievously.
“Surprise, I put your kids and the evil poison in this cake.”
The parents were beginning to hallucinate and could not feel anything. They suddenly died and were eaten by the pixies as a special treat. Not only were they dead, the kids were baked alive and eaten. Since the mom was a leader of the kingdom, the wizard was jealous and wanted to rule so killed her and covered it up so he could take over the land.

“Finally!!!” The wizard said,” I am in rule of the kingdom and no one can stop me!!” After the feast on the family, the wizard went to the people outside and told them the royal family left and announced him the king while she is gone. Feeling very happy with himself, he went off to his chambers to go to sleep. While he was sleeping he drifted off into a jumble of thoughts and dreams. Most of his dreams were about events that had happened earlier that day. He thought about what he had done to the family. Satisfied with the thought, he drifted off into more dreams without thinking about the consequences.

During his dream, a vision of the family appeared to him. This scared him so horribly with all of the things he did to them they did to him. He woke with a start, sweat coming off of his forehead, he rushed to his steward to tell him about his dreams. “Billy!!” the wizard shouted to his steward,” come here and I have to tell you about something very important!!” As Billy walked over, the wizard looked around franticly for any signs of the dead family. The wizard suddenly stopped and paused, “Did you hear that,” said the wizard. “ I didn’t hear anything,” said Billy,” what did you hear.” “ I heard the sound of a child weeping,” said the wizard. “ I swear I didn’t hear anything,” said Billy. “Well, I must be hallucinating,” said the wizard.” “ Well anyways, I called you over here because I had some dreams last night and it was very weird.” said the wizard. “Oh really?” said Billy,” Well it is probably a one time thing or something.” “Yeah, you are probably right, thanks Billy.” said the wizard.

The hauntings of the dead family only just got worse. The wizard started seeing the family everywhere throughout the castle and no one else seems to see anything. He starts seeing the family in ironic places. For example, the children in the bakery, and the father in the crystal cave. The family is starting to appear in his dreams more often. The events are starting to replay in his head over and over again, the kids in the cake, the mother all through out the castle. He can hear the voice of the father from his room and in his dreams saying “no, no, don’t bake my children.” The wizard frequently attempts to chase the ghosts of the dead family but always gets nowhere. With all of his attempts to chase the ghosts, he is frequently viewed as if he has gone crazy.

After a week of hauntings from the dead family, he decided to try to take a break and get some peaceful sleep. In his chambers, he is getting ready for bed and preparing himself for the endless dreams of the family. The instant he closed his eyes, he heard a loud BOOM!! He got up with a start, but only to see the family standing at the end of his bed. “No!” the wizard exclaimed. “Your time has come to a close, wizard, the mother said. “Noooo!!!” the wizard exclamed. That would be his last and final words in his life. After that day, he was never heard from again. Nobody ever went up to his chamber or checked on him ever again. A new ruler was crowned after the disappearance of the wizard. Nobody ever knew of him or remembered him ever again.

Or so they thought. The story told over generations and generations had been twisted. This is the real story. The wizard smirked and left to talk to his servants about baking them into a cake while the family developed a plan on an escape. The room was slowly filled with flour and sugar while cracked eggshells lay on the floor. Mum sat there as her mind began to fill with frustration.

”Stop! Let them go it’s me that you want,” shouted Mum as she leapt from the floor.

“What makes you think I should do that?’’

The wizard and witch continued to dispute as the father and the twins found a way out of the kitchen and into the potions room. Eyes filled with wonder as they entered a room filled with multi colour potions sitting on wooden display shelf. As they hunted for any form of escape the twins came across an unusual book. It had a tatted and browned cover which held together with wrinkly, old pages with ancient markings inscribed on each page. As they flicked through the pages they came across of a ‘spell of escape’. Realising that they had found the incantation that would help them escape from the wizard’s grasp, they quickly made their way to their mother, while their father continued to search for an escape potion unaware that his children were gone. Finally he came across an exquisite potion so powerful that it could tear the world into two. Dad grabs the potion admiring it unaware of the protection spell set on these potions the wizard had a sense that something was wrong but he dismissed the feeling and continued fighting
As the children return to the kitchen, they were greeted by colourful arrays of multiple spells being shot across the room. The kitchen was turned upside down with pots and pans on the floor and glass plates shattered everywhere. The room only held the wizard and mum as the servants had left in fright. Mum and the evil wizard continue to battle with rage,
“Just let us go, we’ve done nothing wrong to you!’’ called mum as she shot another powerful spell.
The Dad grabs the potion and hurriedly runs to his children’s aid, as they let out a shrilling scream,
‘’Mum, we need to go, now!”
As Mum hears her call from her children, she turns around and is drawn to the unordinary book, staring at it with wonder.

As the wizard sees the potion in the father’s hand a feeling of rage takes over his head.
“No! That potion isn’t yours to touch!” he screamed with fear.

Quickly Mum ran to her family outrunning the evil
wizard and read the spell of escape.

Landing back where they started in this weird world their time with the evil wizard hadn’t come to an end. Desperately searching for his potion he quickly turns into a snake, and winds around Dad, he picks him up and begins to interrogate him ready to pluck the potion away from him.

Quickly Mum grabs the ancient book which helped them escape previously and begins to look for an erase spell furiously. Just as the evil wizard had gotten his potion, the Mother said the incantation out loud and the potions splashed to the ground and the snake figure disappeared. The family was then transported back to their world as a punishment for using magic.
